"El almendro y sus frutos" is the project that José Alamo, boxing champion, carries forward with young people from schools adjacent to the marecón of Cienfuegos. There is no real gym, but there is a sidewalk where you can do exercises, bags attached to a tree where you can throw punches and a beach cleaned of waste with four poles and a rope to make a ring. It's what you need to train passion, discipline and education. The political and social changes of a socialist Cuba do not affect the passion of these young boxers, hopeful of becoming champions and seeing the world.
