2nd International VOHH FOTO FEST 2020

Submission Open: Call For Entry

VOHH FOTO FEST is a Biennial, Month long, International photography-festival in Chittagong, Bangladesh. After successful first Edition in the year 2018 (March), VOHH (Voice of Humanity and Hope) is going to organize second International Photography festival. Entry is FREE and open for worldwide. This time, we are looking for long-term documentary projects in depth, which can play significant role for Humanity and our Planet. You have a great chance to win The Title "VOHH Documentary Photographers of the Year" and opportunity to participate in the Prestigious, Unique and Typical, Metaphoric Exhibitions. Winners work will be shown and highlight at VOHH website, as well International Exposure.

1st “VOHH FOTO FEST” was held In the Art Galleries, Rural communities, Villages, Sea and River areas, Streets, Garbage-Dump-yard, slums, factories, even in jungle, wild environment and among the tribes(This Edition even more). The purpose of this photography festival is, to convey to the all kind of people. Our aim is to spread photographic revolution, to make awareness for Social Development and Environment. Those backward places have been selected for exhibition, where improvement and awareness is needed. VOHH FOTO FEST is a massage to the worldwide and that is, photography for humanity. Second VOHH FOTO FEST will take place the whole month of March but the main event will be March 04 to March 10, and after that it'll be moving around the city CHITTAGONG and then Bangladesh. March 4 (2016) is the birthday of VOHH.

First VOHH FOTO FEST jury was, "SAMER MOHDAD" from "Arab Image","SVETLANA BACHEVANOVA" from "FotoEvidence Press", "EILEEN MIGNONI" from "Alexia Foundation" and "BARBARA SILBE" from "EyesOpen Magazine". Worldwide storytellers, artists and photojournalists, send nearly 1000 stories from 44 Countries around the world; Honorable Jury selected 20 best stories among them. And the first "VOHH FOTO FEST-Gold Medal" winner was Spanish freelance photojournalist "Alejandro Martinez Velez" for his story "Migrants in Belgrade". Runners Up: Belgian photojournalist "Alain Schroeder" for his story "Living for Death" and Hungarian Documentary photographer "Simon Móricz-Sabján" for his story "Closed borders".

We are looking for long-term documentary projects, which can play significant role for Humanity and our Planet. Send us your Long Term Projects, story of Humanity. It can be War, Conflicts, Migrations, Environmental Issues, Hidden World, Photo Journalism, Daily Coverage, Aftermath, Social Issue, Social Documentary, Portraits, Contemporary Issues, human condition, social change, humanitarian concern, interpersonal, psychological, cultural, Scientific, Political Significance, Violation of Human Rights and dignity. Even: Nature, Fine Arts, Daily life, Festival, Wild life, Still life, Streets, Land Scape, Sports,Architecture, Story of a community as a positive or Negative sense, as a joyful or sorrow but should be truth and should be a link with HUMANITY. Show us a massage, a hope to change the world. VOHH want to highlight your project for Humankind.

Awards: "VOHH Documentary Photographers of the Year"

Top 10 Long Term Projects, winners of the entries will be chosen by judge panel and titled "VOHH Documentary Photographers of the Year" and opportunity to participate in the Exhibitions. VOHH will cover the full cost of the traveling exhibition and opening receptions. International Press Exposure as well and winners work will be shown and Highlight at VOHH website. Some of the Winner will be interviewed at VOHH Magazine.

Rules / Terms and Conditions

  1. Photographers/ Participants must be the author of the pictures submitted in his/her Name and must be 18 years old
  2. Pictures can be submitted whether or not, have been awarded or published
  3. All kind of MANIPULATIONS is prohibited
  4. ll kind of Nude photography is prohibited
  5. Picture must not be altered by adding, rearranging, reversing, distorting or removing people and/or objects from within the frame. Dodging, burning and cropping are allowed, as well as normal color toning and Colors to Black & White.
  6. Photographs must be true representations of the scene and cannot be posed, set up or staged by the photographer, except Portrait.
  7. Digital manufactured photo illustrations, double exposures, in-camera multiple exposures, added masks, borders, backgrounds, text, handwritten notes, or other artistic effects are all prohibited. Diptychs, triptychs are not eligible, Only digital entries by email will be accepted

  9. Works will not be returned. VOHH FOTO FEST reserves the right non-exclusive license to exhibit the winning works in exhibition, catalog, VOHH website, Books, Magazines, publications and media with photographer’s name. Copyright 100% goes to the photographer
  10. Both color and black & white will be accepted.
  11. The entries will be judged in accordance with the Judging Criteria, as defined in judging and awards. The photograph must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the Sponsors, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. Photographs deemed inappropriate will be disqualified without notice.
  12. VOHH reserve the rights to disqualify any entries which is does not match VOHH's Mission.

  13. Winners will be announced at 04 March, 2020, in the opening day of VOHH FOTO FEST and after that online.
  14. VOHH will ask to the winners to submit the RAW/Original files and Large files of submitted images for verification, Selected photographers have to send within five days, if any winner cannot provide RAW/Original files he/she will be disqualified and the honorable Judge will choose another winner.

What To Submit

  • # Participants must send a long-term documentary projects
  • # In a project, minimum 30 photographs and maximum 50 photographs
  • # It can be ongoing photographic project or Completed
  • # There is no time period for the submitted photographs and project
  • # Only one project per entrant, team entries aren’t allowed
  • # Participants must send Project Title
  • # Participants must send Project Description within 200 Words
  • # Photographers/Entrants Name, Email, Headshot (Under 500kb), Postal Address, Contact Number, Short Biography within 100 Words

How To Submit

Make a PDF file by attaching your Project Title and Project Description and 30 to 50 photographs. PDF file size must not exceed 6mb. Alongside don’t forget to include your Name, Email, Headshot (Under 500kb), Postal Address, Contact Number, and Short Biography within 100 Words in the email.

Inside the PDF file: Please include only: Project Title and Project Description and 30 to 50 photographs.
